Thanks Santa!
Well, they do say bad luck comes in threes.
I didn’t realise they were talking hundreds, though. But that’s what it feels like at the moment.

Job Satisfaction
Just for a change - I thought I would give you a Mark break!
As you know, I love to tell you readers about my progress, as you have been a pretty important part of my journey so far!
I have now been in my position within the NHS mental health services for just over a year, and its been the most amazing and scary year so far. I used to hear about people who loved their jobs, who felt absolutely fulfilled in their employment etc etc, but I had never really felt that way about any of my jobs in the past. Sure, there have been times when I know that I have been and done exactly what is needed at the time in a specific role, but I have never felt more happy - or more ‘ me’ in a job than I do now.

Blowing A Fuse
And how are we today?
Me? Well truth be told I’m a little worn out and a little bit frazzled.
This post was going to be the semi-traditional post New Year goals and aspirations post, but considering the events of the last week, I think that one will have to wait as I run you through the myriad reasons for my current lack of sparkle.

Silent Nights
And a Happy New Year!
As you may or may not know, over the festive period (Xmas and New Years inclusive) I haven’t blogged. A combination of being that little bit busier and that little bit drunker than the norm meant writing, in whatever format was not my first thought. Add in the fact that both big days fell on a Wednesday, the day I usually post the blog, and, well, something had to give.
Something that turned out to be me.
But, it’s a brand new year, and a brand new me (Well, one out of two ain’t bad), and I’m back, baby! The blogger returns! (or possibly strikes back, you choose).

Christmas Holidays
Hello, dear reader!
Just a very, very quick one today.
Unfortunately, there’s been an outbreak of something that may well be Norovirus in the Seated Perspective household. It’s not been pleasant, it’s not been pretty, and, even though the worst seems to have passed, it’s laid both myself and my wúnderwifey, Tina pretty low.
So, this is about all you’re going to get from me today, and as we are exactly one week away from Xmas, it’s all you’re going to get this side of the big day, too.
I’ll try my best to jot a few words down in the week between Xmas and New Year, maybe on the Thursday, to tell you how Santa has treated me, but no promises, eh?
So, until we meet again, have a fantastic festive period. Eat and drink all the deliciousness, play the games, bop along to the usual tunes, and generally have yourself a merry old time.
Marry Xmas one and all.

Only A Ninja
Why is it always this time of year, eh?
Not Xmas. I know why this always seems to crop up at this time of year (axial tilt). No, what I mean is those wonderfully timed mishaps, missteps, and minor tragedies that seem to crop up, adding stress and expense just when you really don’t need them to.
Like three weeks before Xmas.
Which is precisely when our airfryer decided to catch fire.

Joint Ventures
Echoes. Aren’t they fascinating?
I’m not talking about the way your voice comes back at you from some deep well or cavern wall. No, that's not the kind of echo (echo, echo, echo, cho, cho, o) I mean at all. What I’m talking about is echoes through time.
You see, two weekends ago, while Tina, my ever-essential wife and I were living it up in Exotic Alfreton (and sumptuous Swanwick) my sainted mother was undergoing an operation to fit a new knee.
