Big Break

Hello, dear readers,

I thought it was about time for a change of voice in the house - if that's ok with you ?

The amazingly wonderful uberhubby and love of my life has been a busy bee these last few days, so being the super wifey that I am I agreed to write this blog ( not that I am ever one to be lost for words).

Exciting Times
Surprisingly, this blog almost writes itself, as it finds me about as excited as you can possibly be to be going on our jolly hollibobs in about 10 days time. Although it doesn't really take much to excite me these days (how rude !), when you get to the ripe old age of 50. Even having a meal cooked, or the washing done is very exciting.

It wouldn't be over dramatic of me to say that the last decade or so has been pretty difficult in the Rankin household—health scares for us both, health scares for family members, financial issues, mental health difficulties, etc etc—but somehow, we have survived, I could even say we have actually thrived, because our relationships, friendships and our marriage seems stronger than ever.

So our long awaited holiday to Turkey will be an amazing celebration of love, and not killing each other, with added sun, sand and other things beginning with an ‘s’.

Ready. Set. Go!
Having significant mental health issues has made preparing for this holiday somewhat difficult for me at times. I struggle when things can't be planned to the Nth detail, and have a tendency to overthink and worry.

All of which makes life interesting for the both of us.

Thinking about clothing for 14 days, medications ( including injections for Mark ), insurance details, looking after our beloved pets whilst away, tidying the house, weeding the garden. It has very nearly made my head pop!.

Luckily, thanks to my therapy ( SCM ) with its skils of radical acceptance, mentalising etc, I am coping, and could even say honestly and wholeheartedly that I am soooooooooo excited, much more than ready, and just about as giddy as a kipper for this long awaited and much needed break away.

Until next time.
