It’s going to be a quick one today.
No, really
Really really.
It is in fact going to be a quick one tonight. The reason being that, although I usually write my weekly offering on a Wednesday, when I post it, I’m writing this one on Tuesday, the night before.

And, of course, there’s a reason.
Boozeball
You see, the last few days have been busy. First of all, Tina, my practically perfect partner in this thing we call life, and I spent Sunday afternoon with a good friend and her husband (alright a couple of good friends) in a local pub. A lovely day out full of booze, banter, and, um, more booze.
Sunday was swiftly followed by Monday, as is customary, and Monday saw me watching my beloved Leeds United smash Stoke City 6-0 and, by dint of Sheffield United being beaten by Burnley, having promotion back to the promised land of the premiership confirmed.
Which was obviously a job for more alcohol.
Dog Day Afternoon
Today has been relatively light, and surprisingly sober, with a meet up with my mother and aunt in a local coffee shop being the highlight. We did have a walk (well, a trundle on my part) up to said coffee shop, and of course an equidistant trundle back, too. We took the dog. Which was fun, and a great way to meet people (whether we wanted to, or not).
All of which brings us to tomorrow, or, if you’re reading this on posting day, today.
Which is going to kick off with a drive into Leeds to attend the funeral of a close friend’s father. It’s not my favourite thing to do, and, truth be told, I didn’t know the gentleman perhaps as well as I should have, but that’s not the reason for going.
A Friend In Need
Yes, I’m going due to that pull of friendship that says I should be there to show support for the bereaved. It’s something the lady in question would do for me (I think), and it’s something I want to do for her.
And of course it’s something that will come with a cost.

I’m already anticipating the drag of the last few days, the slight, enduring dehydration, and the effects of a not-very-long-but-long-enough drive. That familiar MS fatigue is likely to raise its head, so, in a strangely organised move, I’m writing ahead of time
I wouldn’t expect this kind of forethought to persist, mind you.

Edit: - It is now Wednesday and the anticipated crash has well and truly, uh, crashed.
Until next time.
